In Mexico the restaurants sell something wrapped in pumpkin leaves. So even those could be sold locally.

How do you keep herbs from bolting in the summer?

  7. Susanto on August 24, 2021 at 9:48 pm

How do you go about asking restaurants and or local grocery stores ? Do you email them telling them what you could offer them at a lower price ?

  11. Santi78 on August 24, 2021 at 9:52 pm

Was watching Curtis Stone but he has turned away from Urban Farming. He has also become extremely political. Including a regular rants against cities, government and “blue”state and more. It’s sad and unfortunate.

  12. Farmer Braedyn on August 24, 2021 at 9:53 pm

    Great video as always

  13. Linda Firth on August 24, 2021 at 9:53 pm

    Hi
    Great video – thanks
Could you explain which are the vegetables which keep on cropping and growing all season? Those which seem to thrive better when their fruits are picked, and just keep on giving! Thank would be dead useful.
    Cheers

    great info.

  16. Thomas List on August 24, 2021 at 9:59 pm

You ask for content ideas, and i may have missed it if you did one….but…..how about a video on plants that help repel as many of the common pests as possible, or ones that invite the predators of the common pests. Like Marigolds, mint, etc.

  17. Susanto on August 24, 2021 at 10:00 pm

That is why farmers who grow this stuff cant make a living by selling hundreds of pounds of cilantro

  18. Tina Griffin on August 24, 2021 at 10:00 pm

    Great video!

I found a small baldface hornet nest in my composter this spring, yes, found it the hard way.

  20. j majick on August 24, 2021 at 10:05 pm

I can’t hardly even find compost without manure

  21. bob smith on August 24, 2021 at 10:05 pm

hey guys on the compost thing you can actually grow mushrooms which creates a great compost for fruit trees as well as having fresh mushrooms to sell to said restaurants

  22. Linda Severs on August 24, 2021 at 10:07 pm

Actually only 4-5% profits in the restaurant industry…can you imagine?

  23. bkay138 on August 24, 2021 at 10:08 pm

A black squirrel at 1:37! Haven’t seen one of those outside of NYC.

  24. Ezway Ocho on August 24, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Easier just to sell at a local farmers market

  25. Joanna Pindelska on August 24, 2021 at 10:09 pm

I really wish to a have o good compost seller in my area, where I’m living.
The city composting plant company, from which I wanted to buy a lot of compost, doesn’t sell this year, everyone else gives me that crapy price that can’t stand a test of the quality of what they sell…

  26. Larry McBrayer on August 24, 2021 at 10:10 pm

GREAT IDEALS on how to make money from the garden and love your videos…lol

  27. Ms. L Graves on August 24, 2021 at 10:12 pm

I watch your chanel routinely. You speak of using rotting straw to build a self watering type of garden so you don’t have to water so much. How can I do that with planters and grow bags (as a renter)?

Companion gardening. What can I plant with my root vegges (like squash and eggplants or spinach on top of onions or potatoes? Will that work??? I’m concerned about what I can plant in my containers with each other that will not harm one plant or another by taking over root space and such.

I have a small plastique (plastic) greenhouse that electricity is not a good idea for heating. Any suggestions?

How? How can I stop these dang squash from developing fungiis???!!!

Best type and shape of containers for plant recommendations???

Are there and good winter crops?

    Thank you!!!!

    ❤️❤️❤️

Curtis Stone sucks. Love your channel Luke but that guy is a douche.

  29. Gab The Chef on August 24, 2021 at 10:16 pm

you might have just inspired me! This year I’ve grown so many starters that I couldn’t find enough takers among my neighbours. I have many varieties, so I’ll try my luck this coming spring. THX!

  30. Z E on August 24, 2021 at 10:17 pm

I would sell lettuce but the bugs eat the lettuce and i bet the restaurants would not buy a lettuce full of holes.

  31. Lotus Elgart on August 24, 2021 at 10:18 pm

I’d like to see more recipes for foods you prepare by vegetable.

  32. Walking Scripture With Shanna on August 24, 2021 at 10:18 pm

Luke, can I just say how much fun it is to go through old videos and seeing the different incarnations of your intros

  33. Robert Sparling on August 24, 2021 at 10:19 pm

    Thanks for the video!

  34. Verratos Rogue on August 24, 2021 at 10:25 pm

I’m thinking of what singular crop I could grow. I mean how much lettuce does one restaurant go through? Feels like I’d have to convert my whole garden.

Now dad does have a big river lot I can make use of so that provides more options, but a limited starting ambition is probably essential.

There is a local hotdog shop near me that is good but not quite standing out. What might I sell them that would stand out? A unique pepper?

  35. Verna Weese on August 24, 2021 at 10:28 pm

    Great information. Thank you.

  36. Z E on August 24, 2021 at 10:28 pm

I would go broke if i sold basil because the plants i grow are tiny basil plants.

  37. SYS Horizon Enterprises on August 24, 2021 at 10:29 pm

    where are you?

  38. Jeff Bidniy on August 24, 2021 at 10:29 pm

Hey Luke qq did you have to buy insurance prior to selling the food to the restaurants?

  39. Jamie Hankins on August 24, 2021 at 10:30 pm

  41. David Welch on August 24, 2021 at 10:32 pm

  44. Danielle Whitt on August 24, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Seed saving! I’m new to your channel and to gardening as well LOL maybe why I haven’t started much is because I don’t want to miss anything the first go round (I know, I know, doing it is how you learn 🙂 ) Ooooo that’d be a fun one for you, montage garden for one whole year

  45. Ross Nguyen Favorites on August 24, 2021 at 10:39 pm

How do you keep rodents away from your compost pile? One fo my fears from creating my own open compost like yours. Or do you cover it up?

  46. re.Planted Urban Farm on August 24, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Not a big commenter, but I thoroughly enjoyed this Luke. Would love to see more on the topic of monetizing hone gardens.

  47. The Dassem Channel on August 24, 2021 at 10:41 pm

How about selling at local markets? I have considered filling a few crates and setting up a table by the shopping mall parking, on the weekends when more food is ready to harvest than I can eat.
