For someone living as far south as it gets, can you guys do a video on HOW you plan these hunts and what all goes into it? I’m a hunt over bait guy (Texas has very limited public land) who wants to chase bulls, but since I’ve never done it, I’d like to know all the prep work that goes into making one happen. I’m a newer subscriber but already liking the channel! Great bull!

Looks like a lot of shit to carry man… fuck that.

  3. In The Presence on August 4, 2021 at 9:16 pm

This is great! Always wondered how you packed your tent and supplied!! Can’t wait to go out west next fall and hunt!!

  4. Parker Shaw on August 4, 2021 at 9:16 pm

  5. addison5101 on August 4, 2021 at 9:18 pm

I’m looking at doing some public land deer (gun) hunting this November/December, looking at going to Indiana. What state is the most accessible public land you can gun hunt if you’ve never been there before?

  6. Robert Bonvillain on August 4, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Thank you for mentioning SUPER GLUE! My wife used to give me grief for carrying this to use for cuts. It burns like fire but it definitely works in a bind and you can use it to mend your equipment.

  7. Jason Cutsforth on August 4, 2021 at 9:19 pm

That advice about just stuffing your sleep system in your pack is great. I started doing that years ago and it helped immensely. You probably know this, but EXO makes a dry bag for their packs in case you get tired of that hefty bag. 🙂

  8. Alex Genereux on August 4, 2021 at 9:21 pm

What tent are you running? Looking at getting into hunting out west and just curious what I need to spend.

  9. shane davis on August 4, 2021 at 9:22 pm

Is the the exo 4500 or 3500?

  10. Brettski1024 on August 4, 2021 at 9:27 pm

Keep calls in Bino harness and keep tags in Bino harness. If drop bag you have your tag on you. Never know when DNR agent wants to be a complete ass.
Put rain gear and puffy in outside pockets. Make it easy to get to. Put dirty water inside. Want heavier items middle of pack close to back as possible.

  11. Stephen Collins on August 4, 2021 at 9:27 pm

Great advice, Zach! I pack similarly for time out bush here in Australia, though I pack heavy-duty gaiters every time – in summer, I’m protected from our snakes and all-year they stop me from getting smashed-up shins.

  12. CHUCK on August 4, 2021 at 9:28 pm

What is the total weight of the pack? And what brand is that pack?

  13. Fitz McFadden on August 4, 2021 at 9:29 pm

Boot Guru, I must consult one.

  14. Matt Higdon on August 4, 2021 at 9:30 pm

That is the best advice for packing a sleeping bag and pad I have ever heard

  15. Nathan Jaksha on August 4, 2021 at 9:30 pm

Nemo makes some backpacking pillows that are small, light, and comfortable. Would recommend, always take on my trips

  16. Deeply Driven Outdoors on August 4, 2021 at 9:31 pm

I’m looking to go on my first Colorado elk trip in 2021. What items would you make sure you buy quality on? What items can you cut corners on?

  17. Daniel Continisio on August 4, 2021 at 9:31 pm

    What brand is your pack?

  23. Saul Good on August 4, 2021 at 9:45 pm

What Keens do you wear for whitetail? I had a awesome pair of super soft bottom boots that were marketed towards bow hunters but i cant find them any more.

  24. Jesse Register on August 4, 2021 at 9:46 pm

I would love to know what kind of Keens you wear while whitetail hunting.

  25. Jason Cutsforth on August 4, 2021 at 9:46 pm

That idea of putting the bugle tube end through the back pack strap and twisting it back is INGENIOUS! Why didn’t I think of that years ago?! That idea alone was worth watch this video. Thanks man!

  26. Bob Papai on August 4, 2021 at 9:47 pm

    Yall are funny as hell

  27. Nez meister on August 4, 2021 at 9:48 pm

    Come hunt Oregon

  29. Valhalla on August 4, 2021 at 9:50 pm

What your doing man it’s good but I’ve never seen a guy who needs spray to check the wind or a water filter XD

  30. adam knudtsen on August 4, 2021 at 9:53 pm

Stick cotton balls in the advil bottle to take up extra room so that doesn’t rattle, they weigh pretty much nothing. Cotton balls and Vaseline or wax makes good fire Starters too. Old man I met in the woods taught me that. We were hiking not hunting but he said he could hear my pill container rattling 100yards away.

  31. Craig Littler on August 4, 2021 at 9:54 pm

What does your back pack weigh

  32. Alex Kyle on August 4, 2021 at 9:54 pm

What tent system are y’all running, I looked and didn’t see any in the comments but I’m not very technologically savvy! Thanks and enjoy watching your stuff!!

  33. J P on August 4, 2021 at 9:56 pm

You’re a legend! Thanks my guy, good to see what other people use

  34. carolinagreenhead on August 4, 2021 at 9:56 pm

Did you have any problems with altitude sickness? How did you adjust? I’m looking into making a trip like this and have read some horror stories.

  35. Hunter Walls on August 4, 2021 at 9:57 pm

  36. Steve Huecker on August 4, 2021 at 9:58 pm

  38. Zone 's World on August 4, 2021 at 9:59 pm

I have the same boots. Put a lot of mile on them. They are amazing.

  39. Joel Mcmahan on August 4, 2021 at 10:00 pm

Open invite to THP. If you guys ever do a public land challenge on the N.C. Tenn line I got you all a place to stay buildings with electric free to THP or Catman 20 acres farm 15 min drive to highest point east of Miss.

  40. 308 Strider on August 4, 2021 at 10:01 pm

The outwest backcountry hunts have been seen for years on other programs. What made THP beloved is y’all did it on small, heavily pressured public land in the Midwest and East Coast. Go back to the roots… it’s the real ticket.

  41. dekinser on August 4, 2021 at 10:03 pm

What pants are you wearing? They look super stretchy.

  42. HawkeyeThomas on August 4, 2021 at 10:03 pm

What happened with the bear archery giveaway y’all were doing?

  43. Casey Hastings on August 4, 2021 at 10:05 pm

Great idea on packing the sleeping bag and pad without rolling it up, thanks! Did not see any rain gear?

  45. M B on August 4, 2021 at 10:09 pm

Wish you told us about the pack too brother!

  46. Hell Yeah on August 4, 2021 at 10:13 pm

I haven’t gone elk hunting yet but I bought an inreach to use this October when I go. I was amazed how useful it was when I was deer hunting in areas I don’t have cell service. I love the comfort it gives me that I’ll never be hurt in the woods alone. I actually keep it in my truck at all times just in case. What stuff sack do you use for your jetboil?

  47. David Gonzalez on August 4, 2021 at 10:13 pm

Weight of total pack when full? Taking 1st elk trip this coming fall. Ohio whitetail hunter. Thx
