  3. Skinner McLane on June 16, 2021 at 7:21 pm

Question: the ‘stab’ that can cut tails…is that viable at all? I don’t know how the mechanic of tail-cutting works. I assumed you had to do a certain amount of "Cutting damage" to the tail to get it to cut, in which case, you’d never cut the tail with a move used so rarely.

Have I been wrong? Does the tail just have its own health pool, and when its empty it just needs a single "cutting attack" to sever it, regardless of what damage was used to deplete the pool of health prior?

  10. Viet Nguyen on June 16, 2021 at 7:27 pm

can someone explain why we have to be careful online with the forward smash for category 3 attacks?

  11. Tebon on June 16, 2021 at 7:30 pm

    HH is just beautiful

  12. Heccaroni on June 16, 2021 at 7:30 pm

God this weapon is so complicated for me, but you made it look so easy for me to use. Thank you

  13. Wayne Z on June 16, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Thank you for this! I feel like i have a better understanding for this weapon now! It got a tad bit confusing about halfway through, but i definitely feel like i ‘ve learned a bit. Thank you!

  14. Fairy Dust on June 16, 2021 at 7:33 pm

Best thing is you can use recitals and encores to dodge attacks.

  15. Leon Garcia on June 16, 2021 at 7:35 pm

    First mh game.
    I started as a hunting horn main…..
How do I use other weapons?

  16. Lodewyk Duminy on June 16, 2021 at 7:35 pm

    Subbed for the sound effects

  17. Damonte Nelson on June 16, 2021 at 7:35 pm

I’m new to MHW and I absolutely love the hunting horn. My only issue is that I struggle to hit fast and aggressive monsters when I’m hunting with a group, nergigante for example. So I’d have to keep running around trying to hit the monster or just swing at nothing and play the notes.

  18. k on June 16, 2021 at 7:36 pm

One thing i didnt see covered was the VERY powerful backwards input encore. Its like 3 slams with the booms on them.

  19. FinerToad 801 on June 16, 2021 at 7:38 pm

    so many sound effects

  20. Weedy Sneedy on June 16, 2021 at 7:39 pm

What’s the horn in the vid

  21. Caciowskij on June 16, 2021 at 7:42 pm

What I got from this tutorial is that I go Boom-Pwissh-whammo and the monster dies

  22. BonesNeverLie on June 16, 2021 at 7:42 pm

I started with long sword, moved to bow, moved to insect, and I think now it’s time to drop my mixtape on these monsters

  23. Jack Jazzhands on June 16, 2021 at 7:43 pm

Thats a nice Tutorial there. I dont see much Horns so I want to learn something today in this video. The way to play a song with the Weapon holding up in the air at 10:44 I cant do that. Can you explain that to me maybe? I achieve that once with the anchor, but that wasnt the anchor.
Edit: Found out he does it when you do the ‘bumb’ before the dudeludu^^ It is a much quicker way to play a song btw.

  24. Hans Kraut on June 16, 2021 at 7:43 pm

12:58 DAT’S A LOTTA DMG, Gotta need some Flex Tape!

  33. Tu Loong on June 16, 2021 at 7:51 pm

I didn’t pay attention to the date this video was created & was wondering why there wasn’t the notes for what Icebourne brought us before looking at the date & having an "oh, yeah" moment. So unfortunately this doesn’t help much beyond the base game. Is there by any chance an updated video to showcase the new moves?

  34. Joel Hernández on June 16, 2021 at 7:51 pm

Wonder if I should try this weapon again in MHW with the hopes that the moveset clicks this time. I gave it a try in MHFU and MH4U. In both cases I ended up performing the worst out of all blademaster weapons. And I love characters and or items that let me support and hit stuff at the same time so I always wanted to play as HH.

  35. J. C. on June 16, 2021 at 7:52 pm

    Amazing tutorial!

  36. [C] olosuss on June 16, 2021 at 7:53 pm

I didn’t know about the triple encore O.o

  41. ROBDEWAND on June 16, 2021 at 7:58 pm

ooh so i accedently put the right skills into it already :p i made a deviljho hh as apparantly it is the bets hh in the game so i decided to make an evade talisman because it looked pretty good it is onyl m but whatever, and i already had the guild bard alpha hat made so i augmented it and maxed it out. now all i need is 2 rar 7 augements for the horn itself

  42. chance rasmussen on June 16, 2021 at 7:58 pm

I’ve been playing this weapon so wrong

Jus start using it I love it I got a hammer that buffs n supports lol that’s so awesome

  45. Sir Speaks Alot on June 16, 2021 at 8:00 pm

As a HH main I have to let you other weapons users know that you guys are basically my Palicos. You guys are putting work, but the big boy can handle it

  46. Valkirth on June 16, 2021 at 8:01 pm

i love the HH,its my favorite weapon (up there with hammer when i wanna smack something in the face, hammer my be simple but there is just something satisfying about smacking a monster in the face with a heavy weapon lol),as for HH i’m gonna get my rock on while i beat the monster with my song xD
only one small correcting, most HH lovers will have more than one horn depending on how they play (like element weakness matching)

another thing, you never spoke about combo’s leading into others if the last notes on the first song matches the first note of the second song, for example att up is blue>red>green>>blue and health rec is blue>green>blue,so instead of inputting blue>red>green>>blue then inputting blue>green>blue to get both songs you could instead press blue>red>green>>blue>green>blue to get both songs banked (your essentially pressing 1 note less to get both songs which make a big difference over the course of a fight, hopefully this didn’t sound too confusing to try explain)

  47. Bryan Noyola on June 16, 2021 at 8:03 pm

    "Support" weapon

  48. VulcanSpirit on June 16, 2021 at 8:04 pm

Right as any attack just about to finish you can flow straight into reticle by pressing R2, its actually a split second faster as you dont have to wait for the swing animation to completely finish. This is kind of the same principle as dodging after an attack so not to deal with that after attack extra animation. Not sure why no one talks about this in tutorials but does it in them. You did it in this video after a thrust. The thrust motion doesn’t even finish when you do this. The easiest attack to time R2 is right after forward+triangle, then when it hit and still in the ground you hit R2. Otherwise on other attacks I just mash R2. Doing this on a thrust when you are trying to DPS a down monster is sooo good, as that animation is a bit long to finish.

  49. HowlUKx on June 16, 2021 at 8:05 pm

Brilliant, thanks. I didn’t know that different standard attacks had different levels of stun/enervate.
