Im not familiar with the rules of baseball. I was just wondering why there are Padres players on bases but there are no hits registered? Im confused.
This no hitter had everything. Great strikeouts. Great defense. A comebacker. Gotta love it.
See that’s why baseball is so beautiful. This game has been around for 150 years and this has only happened 4 times.
You just never know when you’re going to witness history but if you watch it will eventually happen. Congrats to Tyler!
can we just take the time to realize that this is his FIRST MAJOR LEAGUE START AND FOR HIM TO GET A NO HITTER!?!?!??!
These idiot announcers are lucky they didn’t jinx’s him. Good announcers know only to start talking about no hitters at around the seventh inning and to do it very calmly. Not get excited and say no hitter every other word
The defense deserves a lot of credit for this no hitter. The Padres had a few really hard hit balls that should have gone for hits. They were just right at the defenders.
All thumbs down are sore losers. Pathetic, isn’t it?
Highliight of the D-backs season..lol
He reminds me of Maddux, except for the whole lefty thing.
Bro was cool as a cucumber and accomplished an absolute rare feat in his very first start. Imagine how many men have crumbled in their debuts. I respect that.
You’d think it was an away game. Step your game up AZ.
Yeah, but can he do it again next time? – Johnny Vander Meer
How’s it a no hitter if there was a guy on 1st baseball after dude hit a line drive to 1st and dbacks got a double play. Wouldn’t Padres have a hit since dudes on 1st base
Dbacks fans needed this man
Great commentary
Great pitching and fielding.
Always need a bit of luck where "balls find gloves" in order to get the No No. That said, he had plenty left in the tank getting 2 guys looking in the 9th with off speed paint. Congrats TG, the pride of SLV!
I’m 8th Generation Santa Cruz. 5 miles away. Stoked for the local guy!!
The dbacks will be really good in a few years tbh
All downhill from this point
they were smashing him but good defense.
Just another no-hitter in an overpopulated watered down league, It’s passé already
Pops was real proud
The stars aligned for him and the dbacks finally played good defense
That’s some powerful stuff
It’s all downhill from here
Madison who? Lol
matte almost threw the ball lol
So many of those defensive plays looked unusually awkward for Major League players, even the ones that were really nice plays
Lot of hard hit balls. Great D
Marte is like "I’m gonna chuck this ball to the moon" then realizes that tyler gilbert wants the ball
but it was only a seven inning game so it was only 21 outs
What an amazing moment for both him and his dad. I can imagine he was thinking back to all those time he played catch in the yard with his boy.
Is it me or does Gilbert look like he’s not throwing hard but still up in the 80’s on his pitches?
3 walks?….. Not…again not …a no hit
good d
Love how they started showing his dads reaction after every from the 6th on lol
Now that’s a future star right there
I love feel good stories like this. Way to go!!
I’m a Dodger guy myself, but this was absolutely incredible to watch. I still have chills going down my neck.
I’m not crying you’re crying
Machado hit a perfect perfect line out 2:04
Being a Padres fan is very tough right now
Outstanding game and big props the the AZ defence – they were amazing
what a truly great moment with his dad there and everything. you couldn’t have wrote it any better. hosmer was hitting the ball so solidly. a lot of luck in this one with a lot of sharply hit balls right at guys. nonetheless a phenomenal outing.
I like how with the last out the fielder was like I’m going to throw this one! Then realized oh wait… Tyler might want this…
What a great day at work, pops cheering, defense was awesome, thanks for Baseball.
IM NOT CRYING YOUR CRYING
Awesome
I’d say this is one of the ugliest no-hitters I’ve seen, but every nono/perfect has their fair share of scary moments
