I think the Good ol Hound dog is one of the best Hunting items ever created.and a good model 24 savage combo gun is another and a old Case XX knife is also and a good heavy wool shirt is another good item to have and some of those long plugs of Bull O The Woods chewing tobaccy is a good thing to have and a old metal coffee pot and you can stay in the mountains for a right smart while if your hounds are any good you can catch some critters and cook them for your grub and just sleep with your hounds the wool shirt will keep you plenty warm anlog with the dogs just don’t roll around in your sleep because you might get dog bit if any of your dogs have been fighting with the bears ,they can be grumpy and sore..when I was a kid I would hunt with a man and we would stay gone in the mountains for days at a time ,at night if the hounds wasn’t running a fresh track and we was stopped they would all get together in a big group and I would crawl into the middle of all those dogs and sleep and stay plenty warm and sleep pretty good as long as there wasn’t any fighting going on.
