Big Bulls on Public Land – Rifle Elk Hunting (Eastmans' Hunting Journals)

Go elk hunting for big Wyoming bulls on this episode of Eastmans’ Beyond the Grid. Eastmans’ family friend John Stovall has waited 13 years for the chance at his dream hunt, a public land hunt for elk out West. Ike and Guy Eastman join John for this late season hunt in Wyoming elk country. The crew is also joined by Austen Lester of Fieldcraft Survival.

wonderful, and a few twinges of buck fever sounds like.what was the problem with the cycling of the backup round? a little greenhorn on both of them not watching the bull after he dropped, oh look he is back up!. ( yeah we all release the adrenaline too early sometimes)

Congratulations on a great hunt and a great bull. It never ceases to amaze me that bull elk will stand in place after being shot with a 300 WM with a well placed shot. Congratulations!

Reaching over and touch a weapon with someone behind it to move the safety??? WTF.

I agree with Ike. I don’t know why people carry the lower leg/hoof. Just extra weight. Great hunt guys!

  13. Rick Flair on October 12, 2021 at 9:05 am

I love that they don’t trust him enough to run the safety of his own rifle. Says a lot.

  14. Jack Faith on October 12, 2021 at 9:05 am

I’m surprised you guys didnt break the bull down the night of and hang it. But hey, each to their own.

Really enjoyed this video, Elk hunting is on my bucket list for sure. In the meantime I will just have to settle for red deer and fallow deer over here in Ireland.
I do a fair bit of driven shooting at this time of year, check out some of my video’s on my channel.
