I haven’t had much luck with the sled. I have a jet sled also and it seems like once I get about 40 pounds in it, it is incredibly difficult to pull through taller grass and mud. Takes 2 guys to yank it through that stuff and its a struggle. I need to try the cart method.

Sleds are highly versatile and should be in the arsenal of must-haves. Don’t forget the thermos of coffee and snacks – then you will be ready to go!

I have a 5’ Pelican sled set up to pull with a belt and poles (pulk). Mud and hills (up hill of course) are the worst but other than that it’s relatively easy. I’m continually perfecting the system. This season I’m dragging, mostly on grass and dirt, around 50 decoys (light foam, not plastic) upwards of 1.5 miles round trip. I use the sled as my layout blind with a either a backboard or a folding seat. I’ll GoPro myself and post one of my walk-ins just to prove that it’s a viable system.
