You forgot the most important rule for foraging… take 1/3 of what you find. Leave one for the next forager and one for the forest. Never clear cut a patch

I like to look for cedar apple rust on cedars.
Hey Larry, what county were you in? I’ve seen them all over the southern part of Wisconsin but I have never found them up by me in Marathon County.
Got to go foraging after seeing this video. Well done.

Can’t believe you didn’t devote a little time to recognizing true versus false morels. Better hope you don’t lead some novis to a poisoning.

Morels grow in a matter of hours … If you leave them, either the deer or the turkey will get them … Leave a morel for the next day and they will be dried out or decaying …
I knew you were from Wisconsin based on your accent.
Fellow Wisconsinite here! Gonna try morel hunting for the first time in the next week or so. Wish me luck!
I get my mushroom at Trader Joes. Not need to hunt for one & die from picking the wrong kind & eating it.
I love your walking stick, that is so cool
Watching these guys pick mushrooms is like watching the bass pros catch monster fish. I wish I had as much luck with finding mushrooms as these guys did.

Sometimes you’ll look all day and not find one. The next day. You can go back to the same place and find two dozen. It’s best to cut em off with a knife. Deer love to eat morels.

Where can I find the magic ones?
Loved Morel hunting with my dad and we used to find them by the old grocery store paper bags. We cleaned them the same way but we dipped them in eggs and flowered them, and fried them in some oil. Very tasty.
Uncle Perry is the man! Great hunting knowledge. Thanks for posting.
haha!! I’m drooling! heading out to my forest right now!!
Elm Trees My Friends (chinese elms) These guys found the honey hole wow
There are no wild morels. They are raised locally by a little old lady in her basement. She distributes them to locals and they all laugh at the new hunters a lot like snipe hunts pulled on boy scouts.
