Great review. Been looking at Kuiu for photography purposes. Something that’ll blend in, keep me warm, but not weigh me down. I appreciate you going through every piece of gear and showing them being worn. I checked out some of your other videos as well, Vortex Optics, Boot reviews, etc. All stuff I find useful. Keep up the great work!
that strong fleece 260 is not warm at all and the wind cuts right through it but i like it I love my kuiu stuff but they run so small and most of there stuff does not run the same a XL strong fleece 260 is a lot smaller than the peloton 200 and 240 in XL

I have a mix of first lite and kuiu. The kuiu pants are fantastic. The kuiu gloves are a notch above. I like first lite merino, and they have some different options that kuiu just doesn’t have. I just don’t get wholesale having one over the other. It seems to me you’ll find the best fit mixing and matching. Your wife is quite a bit more patient than mine, dropping that kind of money all at once! Good luck for bear and enjoy the new gear!
I’ve been looking to upgrade my clothing system to Sitka or first lite but now I’m thinking about the kuiu
My favorite Kuiu product has to be the Tiburon pant, I have been wearing them for years. The Tiburon pants are great for early archery, I wear them from August through October. I like most of Kuiu’s stuff, however, if a person that is built like a college linebacker then some of the coats and shirts will not fit the best (the chest and the arms a little tight)
im a kuiu guy with everything but my exo pack. I have three pairs of Kuiu gloves…. axis gloves are no good, don’t waste your money. I hunt in Wyoming and use my gear extensively
This is Sarah’s son but ya man the kuiu pants are my favorite there perfect for almost everything.

I have a mix of First Lite, Sitka, and only the attack of paint from Kuiu, which I love but will be too warm for archery season. Why did you switch wholesale from First Lite to Kuiu if you had to pay for it all? Is it really that much better? My corrugate guide pants performed flawlessly in Colorado for two hunting seasons now. But the First Lite gloves need some improvements. I’ll be interested to see your updates as you use Kuiu this season.

Great gear! KUIU is about an hour from me and it’s really hard to not drive there every weekend to spend hundreds. Well, make that thousands…Go luck this hunting season.
I like the attack pants but they are not pick resistant at all. The fabric isn’t very durable and mine were getting pulled apart after two days. Super comfortable though.
I think the only issue I have had with Kuiu so far is the Yukon gaiters which utilize the same Velcro can be noisy… hopefully as the the Velcro gets broken in a little they will quiet down
I wear all XL in sitka. I just ordered $1500 in kuiu. You got me worried on sizes. I ordered all XL. Im 6′ 215

Does this high dollar gear only last a year? This season I wore this, next season I wore that….. lol jk man good looking stuff I just ordered some Kuiu gear after almost 30 years of Walmart gear. Hoping the stuff is with the money.

I am 6’3” 180lbs. Size up on nearly everything tops and bottoms.
I bought their pick system and spent over 600.
Things I would stay away from: their zip up thermals. (They just really aren’t that warm) buy some Klim instead. I don’t love my merino tshirt, it’s lose and attracts everything from dust to hair.
What size is the 260 hoody you had on?
Kuiu is amazing!!! However, I’m running the Firstlite Uncompahgre 2.0 top and bottom
Really want a down jacket as insulating layer to wear either with a guide or axis softshell. Im in Southern Ontario so gets down to 20 ish degrees (F) or colder – 15/20 (C). Would a Super Down Ultra suffice or should I get the Pro? You looked really puffed out when you had the Ultra under the Axis softshell. I dont want to freeze either (I sit in boats for long time in winter muskie fishing). Can you fit the Axis softshell over the Super Down Pro if theyre the same size? For hunts would mostly be sitting in blinds or stands. One last question, do you find the double hood configuration (on insulation and softshell layers) cumbersome or valuable? Wondering if I get a hood on my insulating layer as well. Thanks and awesome review!
How is the water resistance on these things? Are they on par with goretex?

I have all kuiu stuff. It is sized accordingly. But before you buy read the reviews just to make sure. People will tell you if it’s sized smaller than it should be.
The Kenai will only shed water for so long. My daily wear coat needs new DWR on it. I’ve done it once and it didn’t work. I wasn’t happy because I followed directions exactly.
The one downfall I’ve found is their shirts are incredibly thin. The 125 is barely different from the 145. Both have no warmth capabilities.
The axis gloves are not warm at all. They feel great but have 0 warmth. My other lightweight kuiu gloves which they no longer make are way warmer.
I’ve got 2 dcs guide jackets, hooded peloton 240, guide dcs vest, 2 kenai hooded jackets, 2 attack pants, 2 guide pants, Sierra pant, 2 tiburon pants, long sleeve 125 shirt, long sleeve 145, a pro pack with 2 bags, bino harness, a couple different sets of lightweight gloves, beanie and balaclava and some leisurewear shirts.
