    You could have filled the bed up to the top of the bottom board with leaves and just fill the top part with soil for half the price

    I add a lot of dried leaves to half the height of the bed before spreading the potting mix this helps the soil to maintain the bed height level to some extent and leaves also get mulched soon

    You know that covering the grass with soil and compost also kills all the weed and grass as no sunlight can pass through for them to survive

    The first thought was would the boards bow outward from the weight of the dirt. As you raked in the dirt I can see one board already doing that. I like the ease of assembly but I would prefer to build with heavier lumber. I like your screening, cardboard and compost selections.
